Getting Help

Have you ever noticed, when we go to the eye doctor, that we try like crazy to guess at the next letter on the eye chart? We’re trying to get help, not look good. We need to tell the doctor that we can’t really see what that letter is.

We do the same thing with getting help personally. We try to say things the exact right way so that we look good. We need to go into the conversation with all the walls down and tell them that we are struggling with being confident. Don’t try to sound good, don’t try to say the right thing. Tell them what we’re thinking, no matter how ugly it is.

More to come . . .
