Three styles:
Visual – they learn by seeing, reading, watching someone act out the item being taught etc.
Teach visuals by focusing on that which can be seen, or at least by trying to paint a picture for them.
Auditory – they learn by being taught through the spoken word or by discussing the subject being taught.
Teach auditory people by conversation. Allow them to give feedback and treat it as a back and forth. These individuals tend to be much more interractive.
Kinetic – they learn by doing or by understanding what is being done, touching is important to this style or at least being a part of what is being taught.
Show them what you are trying to teach them and then have them do it. Involve them physically in the learning process. Let them make mistakes and guide them on what to change.
